FrontRunner Professional ("Company," "we," "us," "our") reserves the right in our sole discretion to change, amend or modify (the "changes") all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time and from time to time for any reason. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be noted by indicating the date these Terms and Conditions were last made. Any changes will become effective no earlier than fourteen (14) days after they are posted; provided, however, that changes addressing new functions of the Services or changes made for legal reasons will be effective immediately. Your use or continued use of the Services after the date any such changes become effective shall constitute your express acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as changed, amended or modified.

Eligibility: Users under 18 years of age are not eligible to use the Services without consent. Users between the ages of 13 and 17, can use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years of age; provided, however, that such parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, and agrees to be responsible for such use of the Services. Company reserves the right to refuse use of the Services to anyone and to reject, cancel, interrupt, remove or suspend any Campaign, Donation, or the Services at any time for any reason without liability.

Definitions: In these Terms and Conditions "Campaign Organizers" means those raising funds, and "Campaigns" as their fundraising campaigns. Additionally, "Donors" means those contributing funds, and "Donations" as the funds they contribute. Campaign Organizers, Donors and other visitors to the Services are referred to collectively as "Users". The term "Campaign Organizers" shall also be deemed to include any individual(s) designated as a beneficiary of Campaigns.

Services: The Services are offered as a platform (the "Platform") to Users of the Services. Among other features, the Services are designed to allow Campaign Organizers to post Campaigns to the Platform to accept Donations from Donors. Although there are no fees to set up Campaigns, a portion of each Donation will be charged as fees for our Services and those of our third party payment processors. Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services with or without notice. You agree that Company will not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance thereof. The Company has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any data or other content maintained or uploaded by the Services. To the extent you access the Services through a mobile device, your wireless service carrier's standard charges, data rates and other fees may apply. In addition, downloading, installing, or using certain Services may be prohibited or restricted by your carrier, and not all Services may work with all carriers or devices. By using the Services, you agree that we may communicate with you regarding Company and other entities by SMS, MMS, text message or other electronic means to your mobile device and that certain information about use of the Services may be communicated to us.

Charitable Giving: Campaigns are not charities to which you can make tax-deductible charitable contributions. Any Donation you make through the Platform may be processed by an unaffiliated business partner for which a processing fee (in addition to our FrontRunner Professional Fee) is deducted. You understand, acknowledge and agree that Company is not a charity, and Company does not solicit charitable donations for itself or for any third-party charitable institution. Company is merely acting as a payment facilitator for any Donations.

Administrative Platform Only: The Services are an administrative platform only. The Company is merely acting as a payment facilitator for any Donations between Campaign Organizers and Donors, and is not a party to any agreement between Campaign Organizers and Donors. Company is not a broker, agent, financial institution, creditor or insurer for any user. Company has no control over the conduct of, or any information provided by Campaign Organizers, and Company hereby disclaims all liability in this regard. We expressly disclaim any liability or responsibility for the success or outcome of any Campaign. Donors must in their sole discretion make the final determination of making Donations to any Campaigns. Donors are solely responsible for asking questions and investigating Campaign Organizers and Campaigns to the extent they feel is necessary before making a Contribution. All Donations are made voluntarily and at the sole discretion and risk of Donors. Company does not guarantee that Donations will be used as promised. Company does not endorse, guarantee, make representations, or provide warranties for or about the quality, safety, or legality of any Campaign. Donors are solely responsible for determining how to treat their Donations for tax purposes.

No Verification of Campaign Information: We do not verify the information that Campaign Organizers supply, and do not guarantee that the Donations will be used in accordance with any fundraising purpose prescribed by Campaign Organizers. We disclaim and assume no responsibility to verify whether the Donations are used in accordance with any applicable laws.

Your Registration Obligations: You may be required to register with Company in order to access and use certain features of the Services. If you choose to register for the Services, you agree to provide and maintain true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the Services' registration form. Campaign Organizers must register using their true identities, including their name and any image purporting to depict the Campaign Organizer. Registration data and certain other information about you are governed by our Privacy Policy. If you are under 13 years of age, you are not authorized to use the Services, with or without registering. In addition, if you are under 18 years old, you may use the Services, with or without registering, only with the approval of your parent or guardian. Certain aspects of our Services may also require you to register with (and agree to the terms of) third party service providers (e.g., payment processors or charitable donation processors) in order to utilize such Services. While we may help facilitate such registration in some cases, we are not a party to any such relationships and disclaim any responsibility or liability for the performance by such third parties. We may exchange information with such third party services in order to facilitate the provision of Services (and related third party services).

Public Display of Donations: Donors have the option to publicly display their Donations for public viewing or allow their information to be provided to the Campaign beneficiary(ies). To keep the details of your Donation private, simply click the appropriate checkbox during the Donation process. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information on the ways that we may collect, use, and store certain information about you and your use of the Services.

Payment of Donations: In order to contribute to a Campaign, Donors will be required to provide Company information regarding its credit card (i.e., VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) or other payment method. Donors represent and warrant to Company that such information is true and that Donors are authorized to use the credit card or payment method. Donors agree that a certain minimum Donation amount may apply, and that all Donation payments are final and cannot be refunded. Donors agree to promptly update account information with any changes that may occur and to pay the Donation amount that you specify. Donors hereby authorize Company to bill Donors' credit cards and payment methods in advance on a periodic basis until Donors terminate periodic payments through the Platform.

Fees: Company does not charge Campaign Organizers any upfront fees for Campaigns. Company retains a portion of each Donation contributed to Campaigns in the amount of four percent (4%) ("FrontRunner Professional Fee"). A portion of the Donation is payable to our third party payment processors ("Processing Fee"). Donors acknowledge that by contributing Donations to Campaigns, Donors are agreeing to any and all applicable terms and conditions set forth by a third party payment processor, in addition to these Terms and Conditions. The portion of each Donation payable to and retained by our third party payment processors are:

        • US Users ONLY: Third party payment processor charges a fee of 2.9% AND $0.30 per donation for VISA, MasterCard or Discover cards or 3.4% AND $0.30 per donation for American Express cards.

All Tribute Pay Fees and Processing Fees ("Fees") are deducted directly from each Donation and are not reflected in the amount which Campaign Organizers can withdraw from the Campaign. We reserve the right to change any of the Fees from time to time. If we change any of the Fees, we will provide notice of the change on the Website or otherwise, at our option, at least fourteen (14) days before the change is to take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the change in any of the Fees becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Fees.

To the extent you are a resident of another jurisdiction, you waive any comparable statute or doctrine

  1. Definitions

“Personal Information” includes both “Personally Identifiable Information” and “Non-Personally Identifiable Information”.

"Personally Identifiable Information" refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are and can be used to identify, contact or locate you. Personally Identifiable Information is requested when you register with us, make a Donation, correspond with us, or otherwise volunteer information, for instance, through the use of "Contact Us". Personally Identifiable Information may include, without limitation, your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card number, and other identification and contact information.

"Non-Personally Identifiable Information" refers to information that does not identify a specific individual by itself or in combination with other information. We gather certain information about you based upon what you view on our Site in several ways. This information is compiled and analyzed on both a personal and an aggregated basis. This information may include the Site’s Uniform Resource Locator ("URL") that you just came from, which URL you next go to, what browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol ("IP") address. A URL is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web (‘Web”). An IP address is an identifier for a computer or device on a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol ("TCP/IP") network, such as the World Wide Web. Networks use the TCP/IP protocol to route information based on the IP address of the destination. In other words, an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web, allowing Web servers to locate and identify your computer. Computers require IP addresses in order for users to communicate on the Internet, browse and shop

“Sensitive Personal Information” means Personal Information that reveals race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership or that concerns an individual’s health.

  2. Notice

Company shall inform you of the purposes for which it collects and uses Personal Information and the types of non-agent third parties to which Company discloses or may disclose that information. Company shall provide you with the choice and means for limiting the use and disclosure of your Personal Information. Notice will be provided in clear and conspicuous language when you are first asked to provide Personal Information to Company, or as soon as practicable thereafter. In any event, you will receive notice before Company uses or discloses the information for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.

  3. Choice

Company will offer you the opportunity to choose (opt-out) whether Personal Information is to be disclosed to a third party or to be used for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected or has subsequently been authorized. For Sensitive Personal Information (when applicable), Company will give you the opportunity to affirmatively or explicitly consent (opt-in) to the disclosure of the information for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected or has subsequently been authorized. Company will treat Sensitive Personal Information it receives from anyone the same as it would treat its own Sensitive Personal Information.

No company is immune from Internet attacks or data breaches. Company cannot guarantee the security of information on or transmitted via the Internet.

7. How Company Shares Your Information

Company shares your Personal Information with third parties when it believes you have permitted such sharing, that it is reasonably necessary to offer services, or when legally required to do so. Company will not share your Personally Identifiable Information with third parties in a way that it thinks violates your privacy. The following non-exhaustive list contains examples of how Company shares or could share your information:

  1. If Site allows you to invite a friend to join the Site or become a User, and you choose to do so, the invitation will contain information that will allow your friend to identify you. The invitation may contain information about other Users your friend might know.

  4. There are also times when Company may make certain Personal Information about you available to strategic partners or third parties. These companies may help Company process information, render services to you, manage and enhance customer data, provide customer service, assess your interest in products and services, or conduct research or satisfaction surveys. Cherished memories of a loving Opa.

I have been told that one of Opas’ proudest moments was when he laid eyes on his first grandchild, that would be me, Meghan. Oma said she had to pull him down from the moon when I was born. That love and joy was seen on his face again one year later when his second grand daughter was born, Amanda, followed by Jolene, Tanya and Sara. Several years later Opa was finally blessed with the birth of his first and only grandson, Ryan. Our family expanded again soon after with the births of Melissa and Claire.

When we went to Opa and Oma’s, we often found ourselves snuggling with Opa in his special green chair. Opa would tell us stories of his peacekeeping tour in Indonesia. We all learned about a pet monkey that his troop had while they were there. This pet monkey would go around from person to person seeking food scraps. Another one of our favorite stories Opa would tell, was about their travels in their old blue Westie. Opa and Oma took a trip to Alaska with some friends.

One night while looking for a place to eat, they stopped to ask some locals for a suggestion. The locals invited them into their home and made a meal for them instead.

When the grandkids would visit and we ran into the house, Opa always had the biggest hugs to give. The type of hug that makes you feel lighter. It would take away any stress or anxiety you had. The kind of hug that, even as an adult, made you feel like a little kid again. He would always smile and say “hi beauty”. We can still hear his voice today, exactly as it used to be.

Being one of the oldest grandchildren, we soon learned that there were certain perks to being a younger grandchild. When we were growing up, there was a special Nativity scene that Opa made. We were always allowed to look, but never allowed to play with. As the years went on, the younger grandchildren were allowed to play with it during the holidays. I guess they thought we would break it on them. But one thing all the grandchildren had in common was being treated to a spoonful of sugar in our milk from Opa… but only when Oma was not looking. It was our little secret. Of course when we went home and asked for some sugar in our milk, the answer was always NO.

When we ate at Opa and Oma’s, Opa would gave us a poke in the tummy to find more room. He always found a small empty spot for some more dessert or cheese. Leaving, Opa would sometimes give you something small and say it was our secret so not to get in trouble with Oma. Whether it was some chocolate, a five dollar bill, or a wrapped up wedge of cheese, he always managed to slip a treat into your purse or coat pocket.

Opa would let us get away with a lot of special treats. One Dutch treat we always enjoyed was Hagelslaag. Opa would watch over our shoulders as we put it on our toast to make sure every inch of bread was covered. If we found a small spot that did not have any, Opa always encouraged us to have more. Of course we can’t forget to mention the Opa cheese. For those of you that don’t speak the same language, that would be Gouda.

Opa was never without his pocket knife which came in handy for slicing up apples to share with the grandkids while we snuggled on the porch swing at the farm house. It also came in handy to help us open our Christmas or Birthday presents.

One thing you could always count on was that Opa and Oma were always up for a game. Whether it was a card game, the jumping Grasshoppers, the board game Around the World, or Rummy Cup, we always knew we had someone to play with. We always sat near Opa when playing games. When our heads were up in the clouds, he would tap our feet under the table to let us know to pick up the spoon or the next card so we had the winning hand.

Thinking of Opa, one can’t forget that he had a special pair of wooden shoes we always wore when we were helping him in his workshop. Over the years he built several of our favorite wooden toys. Another fond memory was being able to help Opa with is his passion for gardening. We would go out and help him plant seeds which would turn into beautiful flowers or food we could help him pick. When Opa was caught up with his love of gardening and wood working, there was always a whistle or a song coming from the workshop or the garden.
When it came time for Birthdays or special occasions, Oma would spend hours making personalized cards for each of us. When we opened the card we would never be disappointed as Opa always drew his special signature Swan. On special occasions, especially ones like Christmas eve, the entire family would gather at Opa and Oma after mass for some Hagelslaag and cheese. These occasions were made extra special for Opa and Oma with the birth of their first two great grandchildren Cecilia and Michael who joined in the fun. The family kept growing and so too did their love, and it all started with you.

Opas are rare treasures, with far too few in the world today. We love you OPA, thank you for all the never-ending love you gave and great memories you shared.

We are all lucky to have shared time with you creating memories so special; they will stay with us forever.
See you on the other side.

Treasured memories of a wonderful dad

Thank you everyone for being here today to celebrate our Dads life. As many of your know Dad just celebrated his 90th birthday and their 61st wedding anniversary this past April, both huge milestones. Dad was born on a farm in Heerhogowaard, Holland on April 11, 1929. He was one of 9 children, six boys and three girls.

In case you don’t know how mom and dad met. They met when they were very young during WW2, children from the cities were often sent to farms for food, shelter and safety. Luckily for us, mom then 11, was sent to the Stuyt family farm. We can remember dad telling us stories about hiding soldiers on their farm. One incident in particular that comes to mind was dad telling was when he and 2 brothers were out in the pasture behind their house where sheep were grazing. All at once a plane came overhead very low and bombed the area, someone yelled “Down” and everyone fell down. No one could move because of the air-pressure, it left them stunned and immobilized. It was a very scary time, the bomb left big craters and several of the sheep were hit with shrapnel, they were very lucky no one was hurt.

Dad served in Indonesia in 1949, where he served as a corporal with the military police for 2 years in a country that was in total chaos. He was there to assist in keeping the peace. This is where he met his life-long friend Case DeGraff.

After his service in the military he went to Canada in 1956, then returned to the Netherlands to marry the love of his life. Soon after their marriage, they traveled by boat to Canada in 1958 where they started their new lives together. At that time, they were only allowed to take $150 with them to Canada which allowed them to buy a bedroom suite, and pay rent. With $6.45 left, they bought groceries; bread, jam, margarine and 2 butter tarts to celebrate.

One fond memory dad shared with us one evening was about his favorite bread - raisin bread. When mom and dad were first married mom decided to try her hand at baking and attempted to make raisin bread. When she surprised him with the bread, it was as hard as a rock. All dad said was that it would make a great corner stone for their life together. Mom’s baking has greatly improved since then.

Between 1958 and 1964 they had 4 kids. If that wasn’t enough, they also packed up everything they owned, and moved 11 times before they finally settled down in the small town of Mossley. There they started farming and had two more and in Laurie and Rick’s opinion, the best kids.

Early on in their marriage, they moved into yet another house, one that mom was happy to learn did not have an outhouse. Dad wanted to surprise mom and hung a turkey up in the basement, someplace mom never ventured to so his surprise would not be spoiled. About a week later, mom noticed a very unpleasant odour and unable to find the source asked dad if he was sure there was not outhouse downstairs. A light bulb must have gone off as dad instantly remembered the turkey he had hung in the basement 10 days earlier.

In another one of the many houses they move into, they lived in one that was always very cold, so dad had put bails of straw around it to try to keep it warmer. This unfortunately did not seem to help much but they made the best of it. One evening upon returning home, dad shockingly stated, “Oh, it’s still standing”. Mom understandably replied “What do you mean”, to which dad said, “I lost my cigarette butt in one of the straw bails before we left”. Mom spent the next while looking for that darn cigarette butt afraid the house would burn down while they slept.

Why settle in Mossley? Well, two of dad’s brothers, Uncle Jack and Uncle Wout had settled in nearby towns. Eventually Uncle Wout moved back to the Netherlands. Together with Uncle Jack his wife Tante Rika and their kids we started a family reunion tradition in 1987 which continues to this day. Last year, relatives from 4 countries gathered to celebrate our Stuyt family heritage.

It was here in Mossley that mom and dad met Arnold and Ann Vandeven, who soon became like a second family to us. Arnold passed away a year ago, almost to the day, and I am sure he is impatiently waiting at the pearly gates with a borreltche for Dad in one hand and the blue prints for a new barn for them to build together in the other.

Dad had a favorite cap which was well worn. During one of these many moves, mom was packing up boxes and looked at the cap, and decided to toss it out. Dad spent hours and hours looking for his favorite cap. When he finally asked mom where it was, she admitted she had thrown it out. It nearly cost them their marriage. To this day mom has not thrown anything of dad’s out without checking with him first.

Over the next 30 years, they had many trials, tribulations and countless memories.

Throughout the years our Dad expanded our little farm building by building and in February 1971 tragedy struck with a devastating barn fire destroying both equipment and livestock. The fire was a difficult and trying time for both mom and dad causing them to rethink everything, and determining where to go from here. Mom had mentioned once that she had asked dad if he wanted to rebuild or do something totally different for a living. By this time farming was already in his heart so rebuilding was not an option but a must. With the help of Arnold, friends and neighbors, they rebuilt a total of 5 new barns over the years.

Spending time in the fields planting crops, tending livestock, conferring with other farmers on the latest trends and equipment options was all part of dad’s daily farming routine. When mom and dad retired in 1996, they held a large auction, selling off the equipment before settling down in their current home in Ingersoll. Selling the farm was a tough decision to make, but it was made easier knowing their oldest son was taking over.

For the first year, you would never know dad was retired as he was over at the old homestead on a daily basis always looking for something to help Mike with, which he did on multiple occasions. Often he out worked the younger generation.

Dad was always a busy man in constant motion, but never too busy to share his love of life, his values, hard work and strengths with those around him. He always looked for the good in everyone. Dad’s family and faith always came first. Dad was a role model not only to his kids, but to others as well. He was very much a family man. Saturday nights started with a pancake dinner, church and watching wrestling and Fantasy Island on TV with a bag of peanuts. We would spread out the unshelled peanuts, cracking them open on the kitchen table as we cheered on our favorite wrestler.

Sunday’s were family days. We would cram 6 kids and 2 adults in a little Volkswagen Beetle and take day trips to Boblo Island, Ontario Place, African Lions Safari or our favorite, Lakeside, where we spent many summer vacations camping with friends. We would stay at the campsite while dad and the other fathers would return home daily to do chores. Nights around a campfire involved roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, singing songs and telling stories. In the morning, kids would be found spread out amongst the tents and cars.

Dad would also lend a hand when it came to cooking for his family. One time, while mom was in Holland, we were all busy doing our own thing and dad proudly stated that he would take care of dinner. He picked up a bucket of KFC and in order to keep it warm, put it under the electric blanket in the bedroom. When it was time for dinner we did not see anything on the table and wondered what was going on. Dad marched us into the bedroom and presented us with our dinner. It was delicious.

Mom and dad always wanted to give each of us some special one on one time, so every month each of them took one of us out to MacDonalds for a special treat for some quality time together, making sure we each felt special in our own way.

Every week after church, dad was famous for quizzing us about the sermon to make sure we were paying attention. One week the sermon was about the 40 hours of devotion. When dad asked what the sermon was all about, Mike was all excited because being an alter boy, he was paying close attention and knew the answer. He proudly announced it was all about the 40 ouncer.

Of course we can’t forget the special place each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren had in his heart. Each of them were better known as Opa’s little chipmunks or when he started speaking his Dinglish, his little schatje or scharreltje.

Every morning for the past little while, mom and dad started their day by watching the daily mass on TV, then have their breakfast, a tradition mom wants to keep as she feels that dad will be by her side greeting her and the morning together.

We all have fond memories of dad which we will recount an endless number of times in the years to come and we would like to share of few of them.

As many people know, dad has had numerous accidents over the years. From breaking both wrists; nearly tearing off his finger due to his wedding ring getting caught in equipment, having bleeding ulcers and the courageous battles with numerous cancer diagnoses over a 12 year period.

One incident stands out, so mom, please cover your ears as Dad made us promise never to tell you. Mom was travelling in Holland with Mike one winter. It was an icy cold day when he ventured out to check on the pigs. He slipped on the ice and fell on a feed tough nearly breaking his back and unable to move. Luckily Arnold happened to come by on one of his many visits and found him. Mom happened to call that night wanting to chat. Dad unable to get to the phone, made each of us kids talk to mom first as a means of stalling until he was able to crawl his way to the phone, remember there were no portable or cell phones back then. Dad made us swear never to let mom know he was hurt, as she would want to come home immediately. Until today, we have kept his secret. Many people thought dad had nine lives, but we all think he snuck in a couple more, because he is a stubborn Dutchman.

Only Angela and Laurie remember this story. When they were feeling blue, had a fight with someone or needed extra dad time, dad always had a large Fruit and Nut bar in the top drawer of his dresser. Dad would send us for the chocolate bar and we would eat it together.

When one of us were feeling down, having a bad day or feeling the weight of the world on our small shoulders, dad would give us a secret wink or blow us a 2 finger kiss letting us know all was well. He would make us instantly feel much better. He had a knack of knowing who needed it and when.

One summer while Mike and Mary-Ann where playing in the shed. Somehow the plough ended up on top of Mary-Ann. Mike ran to the house screaming and yelling for dad. Dad jumped out of the shower and in his underwear and bare feet ran to the shed. Adeline kicked in and he grabbed the 5 furrow plough and lifted it off Mary-Ann. Hercules and the Hulk combined had nothing on our dad.

Remember that little Volkswagen Beetle all 8 of us would cram into for our little ventures; well it was also a source of many memories. One time while parked in a store parking lot, Angela and Mary-Ann were sitting in the car alone. We started to pretend we were driving, when all the sudden one of us knocked the car into reverse. Mary-Ann knows it was not her, so we can only guess who was to blame. The car started rolling backwards and bumped into another parked vehicle before coming to a stop. We hid under the dash. Dad did not say much, but we were never allowed in the front seat of the car again.

Another time the bridge by the creek was under construction, rather than go miles out of our way, Dad decided we could go through a little water, so drove down the bank, through the water and up the other side. That little VW buggy got us in and out of more trouble than we could count.

Many of us did our time helping out with the chores in the barn. On one occasion while giving the sows needles, Jackie was doing her bit helping dad with this chore, by moving the gate to hold the sows in place so dad could administer the shot. These shots were to prevent a miscarriage. As Jackie moved the gate, dad quickly went to administer a shot, but accidently got Jackie’s hand instead of the pig. After, dad told her she was now going to get pregnant; she became upset yelling “I don’t want babies”.

We remember dad was a wonderful whistler and tried to show Angela how to whistle. She could never quite get the hang of it so was happy to just listen or hum along. It always put a smile on her face and let her know the world was a better place because of him.

Dad taught all six of us to drive not only an automatic, but a tractor as well. We think teaching the last two kids is what caused his hair to finally start turning grey.

After dad's last surgery, mom told dad, starting today, we are only going to do what is important to us and what we want to do. They were not going to think the laundry or anything else that could wait. This was their time. So when mom asked dad, “what do you want to do today?” What do you think dad said? “I want to tend to my gardens.” To mom this was not what she was thinking as it felt like work, but to dad, it was his paradise. He built a greenhouse and started all his plants from seed. He spent hours tending his gardens and watching the birds and butterflies come and go.

Dad not being one to sit around doing nothing, soon picked up a new hobby. He developed a new passion for woodworking. He built rocking horses and doll houses for the grandkids. Train sets, fire engines, motor cycles, cars trucks and toys of all sorts for many to enjoy. Many of them were donated to the church for various functions.

Shortly after they retired, they took trips in their West Valia van (also known as the Hippie van). They travelled with Case and Bep to Alaska for 8 weeks; the East and West coasts of Canada and many locations in the States. Stopping at numerous camp grounds and meeting new friends along the way. They enjoyed this way of travelling because they could stop wherever they wanted to enjoy nature, various attractions and to spend quality time together.

On quiet evenings, mom and dad would enjoy watching shows like Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. Nature shows were always a must watch.

Dad was a long time smoker, but gave it an honest effort to quit. After they retired to Ingersoll, dad told mom he no longer smoked. One day Dad and Rick were in the back yard fixing their fence when suddenly mom came out. Dad, not wanting mom to know he was smoking, quickly hid his lit cigar in his shirt pocket. This burnt a hole threw his shirt. He sent Rick into the house to get another shirt. Not just any shirt, but a shirt that was a close match to the one he burnt so that mom would never be aware that he had been smoking.

Dad was an exceptional jack of all trades, from construction worker, peacemaker, carpenter, welder, farmer, toy builder, father extraordinaire, a patient teacher, loving husband, great friend, proudest Opa, broken heart mender, exceptional listener, with a never ending supply of love. We have all benefited from the strong values he instilled in us from a young age.

As we aged, he taught us how to live with dignity, humor and kindness. When the Good Lord finally called how to meet him with courage and strength in the promise of what lies ahead.

Dad, your unconditional love, your time, your patience, your understanding and your wisdom will live on inside us all forever. You have given us the gift that is more precious than anything in the world.
Love you dad, we are not saying good bye but rather, until we meet again, you will always live in our hearts forever.

(blow 2 finger KISS)
