Obituary for William John  MARTIN (Bill)

MARTIN: William John (Bill) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William John Martin on December 1, 2016.
Bill is survived by his wife Alma (Sharp) of 23 years, children Cate, Jane, John (Molly); grandchildren Casey and Cooper; sister Susan (Don) McIntosh and their children Richard and Tanis. Brother-in-law of Murray (Lynda), Marie, Audrey (Don) Hind, Lorne (Beth) and uncle to many.
Bill was born in Midland on February 22, 1939. Bill was very active in the Ingersoll community throughout his 35 year teaching career. He was also involved with Heart and Stroke, Kiwanis of Ingersoll, IDCI Key Club. Bill was the recipient of the J.C. Herbert Award (2006) and the Kiwanis Mel Osborne Award. Bill’s passions were curling, golf, winning football team of ’68, gardening, reading and solving cryptic puzzles.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church,  56 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Monday December 5, 2016 at 11am. A private family burial will take place later.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll, c/o Ian Robertson 174 Margaret Street, Ingersoll, ON N5C 3G5 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada 556 Huron Street, Stratford, ON N5A 5T9 would be appreciated.
