Obituary for Bob Henhawke

Henhawke, Robert
(March 13, 1934- December 14, 2021)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Vernon Henhawke. Bob, as he’s known to his friends, passed peacefully in his sleep in his 87th year.

Bob was a loving husband to Jean (nee LeGresley, 2010) for over 55 years. Over the course of their life together they raised a beautiful family and had the opportunity to watch them grow and have families of their own. He will be dearly missed by his children Pauline (Carl) Chambers, Susan (Ray) Keburis, Leonard (Clare) Henhawke & Ken (Jessica) Henhawke.
Bob was an attentive, doting grandfather to Joe (Alison) Calhoun, Jen (Marc) Vording, Jessica (Aaron) Bakker, Dan Keburis, Emily (Adam) Cude, Curtis (Kelly) Henhawke, Amanda (Steven) Pearson, Brooklyn Henhawke, Trenton Henhawke & Clayton Henhawke.
He was blessed to be surrounded by great-grandchildren who kept him youthful and witty. He will be remembered by Emma, Joshua, Spencer, Morgan, Dekker, Jordan, Nova, Ada, Isla & June.
Bob is survived by his brother Hilton Henhawke, sister Thelma Simmons and sister-in-law Marjorie Henhawke. He is predeceased by his wife Jean, his twin brother Bill, his brothers Clarence, Roger (Marlene) and sister Donna Janssen (Jack).

Bob will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, the generosity of his time and his entertaining humour. He grew up and lived in Ingersoll his entire life and worked at Gardner Denver for 30 years. He was proud of his Indigenous heritage and was a great storyteller. He was a nature lover, avid hockey fan and ardent reader. His grand sense of humour and special knack for nicknames will be especially missed by his family and friends who knew him best. Bob was proud of every accomplishment of his family, big or small, and was always there to support and cheer them on every step of the way. He is truly loved and will be missed dearly.

Cremation has taken place.

A graveside service, where he will be laid to rest next to his faithful wife Jean, will be held in the coming weeks.

A memorial talk and service will be held via Zoom at a future date to be announced for all to pay their respect to the legacy of Robert Henhawke.

Memorial donations in Bob’s memory to JW.org would be appreciated.
