Obituary for Thomas Andrew PAVEY

Tom Pavey passed away peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll in his 88th year.  Born May 11, 1929 to Charles and Naomi (Griswold) Pavey, he lived his early years at their Benson St. home in Ingersoll.  Tom worked as an apprentice tool and die maker at the Ingersoll Machine and Tool company, as well as working for Canada Cement before opening a White Rose gas station.  The early 1960’s, saw the advent of Tom & Gord’s Shell Service Station on Charles Street in partnership with Gordon Ponting.  With the help of family and friends, he developed Spring Lake RV Park in the 80’s.  Tom enjoyed time spent at the cottage, camping, snowmobiling, touring on his motorcycle and just tinkering around. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his love of hockey, his determination and work ethic and his love for animals.
Tom was the beloved husband/partner/best friend of Joyce (O’Neil) for 49 years.  He set an example as a loving father to his children John (Savy), Ken (Lori), Peggy Govers (René) and Polly Wood (Alan) and grandfather to Tara (Steve), Katelyn, Nick, Stephanie, Bradley and Juliet.  He is survived by his sister Francis Whittle (Lorne), sisters in law Muriel Wye (Bill), Donna Black (Peter), Alberta O’Neil, Louise Stafford (David), Shawn Whittacker (Harry), and brother-in-law Aulis Koslonen and a host of nieces and nephews with memories of “Uncle Tom”.  He is predeceased by his brother and sisters (Charles, Marie and Shirley).
Friends will be received Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 1-5 pm at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames St. South, Ingersoll.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 1:30 pm at the Reynold’s Creek United Church in Putnam. Interment in Putnam Cemetery to follow in the spring.  Memorial donations to Reynold’s Creek United Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
