Our beloved son, Sam McHugh, unexpectedly passed away on June 16, 2023, at the age of 21. He is survived by those who loved him most including his mother, Shannon, his father, Jim, and his cherished brothers, Des, and Quinn.
Those who knew Sam knew of his profound kindness, his unique outlook on life, and his desire to be the best friend he could be to each person he knew. His love for others shined through in every word and gesture he conveyed.
Sam had an incredible passion and gift for music. He was a skilled guitar player and enjoyed spending hours learning new riffs and producing music and beats on his computer. Sam loved to spend time with his family; whether it was riding dirt bikes, snowmobiling, hiking, or spending time doing simple things like having meals together or going for long drives where he would engage in meaningful talks about life.
Sam loved his dog, Theo, who he adopted in Nanaimo, BC. They spent hours together hiking in the mountains and hills on Vancouver Island and then walking the trails around Ingersoll. Theo will miss him very much.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
