Obituary for Ruth Isobel (1931-2015 Ross MacDonald)

Passed away peacefully at Leisure World Nursing Home, Ingersoll on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in her 84th year. Predeceased by her late husband Hugh M. Ross (2011) formerly of Embro and her first husband Douglas G. MacDonald (1973) of Embro. Loving mother to Steven MacDonald of Embro and Gordon MacDonald (Michelle) of London. Stepmother to Sandy (Tracey), David (Laura), Dianne (Wayne), Valerie (Joe), Wayne, and Clifford. Ruth had a large extended family of nieces, nephews, 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She loved them all dearly. Ruth was the daughter of the late William and Gladys Bodfish of Embro. Also predeceased by her only sister Evelyn Skillings (Woodstock), her daughter-in-law Kathryn MacDonald (Steve) of Embro, and her stepdaughter Catherine Ross. “Mom” had always been one to enjoy life to the fullest through family, church and community involvement. The last few years had been very frustrating for her as her illness slowly robbed her of her mental sharpness and memories; but she always kept a smile on her face and had best wishes for everyone. In respect of her request; there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service for family and friends will take place at a later date at her interment at North Embro Cemetery beside Doug. Donations or memoriams in Ruth’s memory may be to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Sakura House. Condolences may be forwarded to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, Ingersoll 519-425-1600. Many thanks to the management and staff at Leisure World and Dr. Pariser for looking after mom so well these last few years.
