Obituary for Ron Harrison

Ron died peacefully at home with his cherished family by his side on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in his 88th year.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Vic and Mabel Harrison and sister Audrey Woodman (Clarence) and in-laws Marion and Stan Fuller. Ron will be missed by his loving wife Diane of over 65 years; his son Dave and daughter-in-law Kim, daughter Sue (Don), granddaughters, Jennie Hill (Mike), Allie Gosnell (Brett), Michelle (Adam), grandsons Drew (Makayla) and Tom and great grandchildren; Liam, Georgia, Wyatt, Ollie, Maybel and Julian. Ron will be remembered by his niece Maribeth Koster (Roy) and family.

Ron worked for Bell Telephone for 10 years and then took over his Dad’s hide business in 1966. He ran Harrison Hides with Diane and Dave until he retired. He and Diane bought a cottage on Maple Lake (near Parry Sound) in 1978 and enjoyed many hours there with their family and friends.

Ron loved having friends and family over for dinner and cards, going out for dinners, gardening, watching baseball, going to his grandchildren’s various events, and spending many hours at the Ingersoll Senior Centre.

Friends will be received at McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home on Wednesday between 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 am. Burial of his ashes will follow at Harris Street Cemetery, Ingersoll. Everyone is welcome back to the Ingersoll Seniors Centre for a reception following the service.
