FUNNELL, Ronald James (Ron)  It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ronald James Funnell 71, husband to Ellen, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Ingersoll.   Ron was born in Ingersoll to Fred and Ruth on March 19th, 1947.  He married Ellen McDonald on September 10th, 1966. Ron and Ellen were the proud owners of Edgewood Groceteria in Granton Ontario and he later worked at Atlantic Packaging.  Ron was a generous and hardworking man. He will always be remembered for his love of family, friends and his great sense of humour. Over the years he pursued his passion for classic cars making friends at every turn. He loved country music and was thrilled to see many concerts with Ellen.  Ron cherished his immense circle of friends and remained connected to them from as far back as his childhood.  Ron is survived by his wife Ellen of 52 years, daughter Julie (Stuart Hayes) and son Ron (Kim Dempsey). Proud Papa to Liam, Logan, Emma, Ethan, Queco (Taylor) Ron is predeceased by his father Fred, mother Ruth, and sister Judy.  Survived by siblings Fred, Larry (Jeff), Brenda (George), Jeff (Judy), and Kathy; brother In-law to Bob, Fred (Wendy), Bill (Adele), Linda (George), Dave (Doreen), Ted (Sharon), Steve (Teresa), Jerry (Janice), Kathy and Cindy. Ron was a proud uncle and godfather to many.   Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 16th, 2018 at 11:00a.m.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
