74, passed away on Monday, January 7th at home surrounded by family. Long, long time husband (47 years) of the “Weick kid” from across the street (Sheri).  His parents made their exit previous to Roger; his mom, Ella in 2018 and dad, Fred in 1977.  Those who have stayed behind include daughters Darci (Eric) Houston and Jodi (Andrew) Houston, and amazing granddaughter, Mason Tybring, who is (reluctantly) heading out into the working world this month, and his brother Terry from Kelowna B.C.
Roger has had some truly amazing friendships in his life including Ernie Martelle (a canoeing brother known as Frick to Roger’s Frack), George Brown (good friend from high school) and Terry Barnim (hunting buddy extraordinaire).  There are many other friends that he made through construction, carving, painting, and travelling – you know who you are.
Roger and Sheri enjoyed many adventures around the world; Roger making a new best friend every day while they were on the road.  If the saying was “He who has the best friends wins” then Roger would have been a champion.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Roger provided venison for his family every year and had an amazing hunting safari in Africa (don’t get too excited folks – he limited himself to plains game animals similar to our deer, elk, and moose.  He knew that if he tried to come home with any of the Big Five, he would be in bigger trouble.)
A memorial celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingersoll Seniors Centre, 250 Ingersoll St. S. (just north of CAMI plant) in Ingersoll.

And please remember …. Roger was always joking and laughing – so no black or sad stuff at his memorial!
