Obituary for Robert "Bob" MOTT

MOTT, Robert Gordon (Bob) passed awayApril 10, 2019 at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll at the age of 83.

Born March 30, 1936 to the late Gordon and Verda (Wells) Mott of Ingersoll. Bob was a lifelong bachelor and the oldest of four, Carol (Bill 2018) Nicholson, Joan and Ted Bowman, Tom (2018), and Karen (Winge) Mott.

Bob attended VMS and IDCI. He enjoyed playing sports, and formed many lasting friendships. After graduating from IDCI, Bob started his 64 year career at McKim Home Hardware (E.W. McKim Quality Hardware) first as a clerk / general help to owner / operator. Bob was a great mentor to Lynda (Lyn), Mary, and Pam and many others over the years. Bob will be fondly remembered by his Home Hardware family in St. Jacob’s. HH was not only his career, but a lifelong passion and it showed. Bob enjoyed helping people and his community. He gave generously of his time as a member of the BIA, Ingersoll Optimist Club (prior to its closing) and a dedicated member of the Lions Club of Ingersoll and numerous other committees and groups. Bob was gentle, kind and generous. He was knowledgeable about many things which he willingly shared. He was a good man and true gentleman.

Uncle Bob will be lovingly remembered by Sandra and Doug Weller, Lynda and Tony Pacheco, Edward Bowman, Matthew Nicholson, Melissa Ackerman, Amanda Nicholson, Scott Bowman. Also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, the Clark girls and Bud.

All are welcome to attend A Celebration of Life which will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 1-5 pm at the Ingersoll Arena 97 Mutual Street, Ingersoll. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or Alexandra Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
