HUNTER, Robert “Bob” of Ingersoll Ontario, passed away peacefully at Alexandra Hospital surrounded by the love of his family on January 9, 2022.
Bobby was born in Scotland in 1941 and immigrated to Canada with his parents (Bert and Martha) and his big brother (Billy). They settled in London Ontario where Bob finished high school and went to work directly for Drug Trading Co. It was there that he met Donna and as he said on many occasions, felt blessed to be married to the love of his life, for the past 58 years. He successfully rounded out his career there, retiring after 37 years from the position of London Branch Manager.
Bob was an avid music fan, who loved to whistle, sing and dance. No family room was ever complete without a good set of speakers and a bowl of chips on the table. If he wasn’t listening to music, Bob may have been found enjoying fish and chips out with friends, cheering on a Nascar race, tackling home renovation projects, organizing a BAC church breakfast or going for long daily walks, rain or shine.
Family meant everything to Bob, and along with Donna, he took great pride joyfully sharing in the lives of his two daughters Anne(Dave) and Kelly(Nick), along with his awesome grandchildren Noah, Cailean, Madeleine, Jonah, Zoey, Max and Leo, all of whom he adored. He never forgot his Scottish roots and will be fondly remembered by his cousins in Scotland, several of whom visited Canada in years past. A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bob could always be found giving support and lending a helping hand when needed. He was never shy with hugs or telling family how much they meant to him. He lived these priorities each and every day. Bob’s friends and family say good bye to a courageous man, knowing how much Bob lived, laughed, loved and was truly loved in return by those that knew him best.
Cremation has taken place. A small service will be held for family on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 3:00pm where there service can be live streamed.
