It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Petrus (Peter) Johannes
De Klein, beloved Husband, Dad, and Opa, December 19, 2021.
He passed peacefully at VON Sakura House with his loving wife of 58 years, Maria (Ria) at his side.
Peter was born September 26, 1938, in Stevensbeek, Holland. He leaves behind his children, Trudy Swart, John De Klein (Frances), Merlin Melchers (Jack) and Peter De Klein (Kim). He was a very proud Opa to 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Peter Immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1963 and farmed for 30 years in Mossley. In his retirement he had many happy years singing in the Sacred Heart Church choir and playing various instruments for the Tomato Soup Band.
The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at VON Sakura House who made it possible for Ria to be with Peter until his passing.
Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll, Tuesday December 28th 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Guests are also asked to RSVP on the funeral home website, in Peter’s obituary where it says RSVP. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll, on Wednesday December 29th at 11 am. Internment to follow at Dorchester Union Cemetery, 2251 Dorchester Road, Dorchester. Due to COVID-19 space is restricted so please contact Sacred Heart to reserve a seat. Proof of Vaccination, masks and social distancing required.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to VON Sakura House or the March of Dimes.
