Obituary for Orval William ANDERSON

Anderson: Orval William (July 18, 1933 – January 27, 2020)
Peacefully passed away at Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll on Monday January 27, 2020.
Pre-deceased by his wife, and love of his life Joyce Anderson (Johnson), March 25, 2000, and son Barry Anderson, November 2nd, 2009. His mother Dora Anderson (1966), Father William Anderson (1948), Father-in-law William Johnson (1980), & Mother-in-law Lila Johnson (1997).
Survived by Brad Anderson (Linda), Brian Anderson (Jennifer) and Darby Anderson (Ed).
Grandchildren: Tyler (Brianne), Rebecca (Klaas), Morgan (Kari), Matt (Amy),
Kristin, Olivia, Delaney, Emma, Paisley, Abigail & Jenny (Jason), and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Born and raised on a small family farm in South West Oxford, until the untimely passing of his father, he and his mother Dora moved to a large house in Beachville where Dora opened a boarding house.
Married the love of his life, Joyce Johnson on October 12, 1957. They built a home in Foldens, where they raised their four children, and attended the Foldens United Church. Orval coached several baseball teams, where all four of his children played on teams growing up.

Apprenticed at McNabs as an automotive mechanic, moved onto Canada Cement (Lafarge) in 1956 as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, where he retired in 1990.
He and mom travelled around North America in their fifth wheel, enjoying retirement until mom’s sudden passing in 2000. To his grandchildren he was affectionately known as “Papa”. He spent many Sunday afternoons hooking up the wagon to the riding lawn mower and giving the grandchildren rides, and more rides, followed by candy.

Dedicated, supportive, loving father. In recent years he had developed dementia, and although his memories began to fade, his humour and wit were always present. Words cannot adequately express how much he will be missed, but we find peace in knowing that he has joined his lovely bride for eternity.

Thank you, Doctor Mayberry, Doctor Blake, and Staff at Oxford Manor, Woodingford Lodge and Care Partners.
Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. Spring interment will be at Harris Street Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or Foldens United Church (cheques accepted) would be appreciated.
