Obituary for Mary Jane REDFORD (LaFlamme)

REDFORD, Mary Jane

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Jane, while surrounded by her loving family, on May 12, 2021 at the age of 79.

Loving mother of Darren (Cheryl Simons), Dave (Lisa), and Karen Pinheiro (Paul). Mary Jane was an extremely proud grandmother to Hope (Justin Lamont), Jordan, Payton, and Alexandra, and special grandmother to Mitch, Max, and Ben. Aunt Jane to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Mary Jane is survived by her sisters Pat Savelli of Burlington, Doris Romano (Larry) of London, and sister-in-law Barb LaFlamme of Stratford. Predeceased by her sister Agnes Hockin and brother Jim LaFlamme.

Mary Jane always put her children first, loved to give practical gifts, and shared stories about her master negotiating skills. By virtue, her grandchildren held a special part of her heart. Her love was unconditional, her humour was entertaining, and the mint smoothies were abundant.

Mary Jane was a lifelong resident of Ingersoll. Through her time, Mary Jane worked for Northern Telecom, Coyle, and Grear Awards, and for the Town of Ingersoll for 25 years, where she eventually retired. She is a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and could usually be found either in the front pew or awfully close to it.

The family would like to say a special thank you for the exceptional care Mary Jane received during her hospital stay. Thank you to the Oxford County EMS Services, the doctors and nurses at Alexandra Hospital, and the nurses on the SPU floor, and finally the team of doctors and nurses at LHSC of Cardiology and Respirology. Your care and support of Mary Jane is greatly appreciated.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life is scheduled for a later date.

Donations in Mary Jane’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Lung Association would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll 519-425-1600.
