Obituary for Mary-Ann Patricia Margaret HARVEY (DeWachter)
Courageously with family by her side at Alexandra Hospital on Saturday March 10, 2018. Mary-Ann Harvey of Ingersoll in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of Verne Harvey. Loving mother of Leanne Bowden (Marcel Ruzicka), and step-mother of Deb Winlaw and Carol Robb (John). Cherished grandmother of Emma, Paul, Josh, Justin, Brandon, Shawn, and great grandmother of Kinsley. Dear sister of Richard (Gail), and sister-in-law of Jean and Beverley. Predeceased by her brothers August, Maurice, and sister Shirley. Sadly, missed by her family, friends, and her playful dog Baxter.
Mary-Ann taught at schools in Oxford County for 33 1/3 years at both the elementary and secondary school levels. Reading, gardening, playing her flute and trying out new recipes occupied most of her time. She also loved to dance, go camping, travel, and spend time with her family and friends.
Mary-Ann was a very caring, strong, and determined person which was evident during her interactions with staff and fellow patients. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll and Victoria Hospital, London for the comforting care they provided and to all the friends and family who showed their love and support.
Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Thursday 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11am with Reverend Meghan Nicholls officiating. Interment later in Tillsonburg Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Alexandra Hospital Foundation or Muscular Dystrophy (cheques accepted) would be appreciated.
