Obituary for Martin L. PUBBEN

PUBBEN: Martin L. – After 89 years of life well lived, Martin Pubben passed away on December 18, 2015 at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.   Martin was born on October 23, 1926 in Venray, The Netherlands. He grew up in the Netherlands and travelled to Indonesia in his early 20s as part of the Dutch Army.  Upon his return he married the love of his life, Gerda.  Hand in hand, with three children in tow, they embarked on a family adventure that landed them in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada.  They purchased a farm, had an additional child and built a wonderful life together.  Martin was a sweet man.  He was a kind, generous, fun loving gentleman who loved to travel, read, woodworking, puzzles, gardening, visiting with friends and most of all his family.  Left with memories galore are his loving wife Gerda and his children Peter (Linda), Diny (Doug), MaryAnn (John) and Joanne (Carl). His grandchildren MacGregor (Diane), Tyler (Laura), Melissa, Tim, Kelly, Katie, Zac and his great grandchild Mae. Martin will also be missed by his siblings still living Ann, Jan, Josephine, Mia, his in-laws along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family and friends.  May he rejoice in joining his siblings predeceased (Theo, Gertruda, Joseph, Wilhelmina).  Friends may call at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 240 Thames St., S., Ingersoll on Monday December 21, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 131 Thames St., N., Ingersoll on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 11:00am. Father Gilbert Simard presider. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations to North York General Hospital, the Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimers Society (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.
