Obituary for Leo Vincent KIRWIN

KIRWIN, Leo Vincent –  Peacefully with family by his side at Parkwood Veterans Hospital, London on Friday August 10, 2018. Leo Kirwin formerly of Salford, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Catherine Kirwin (nee Kloepfer) (2015). Loving father of Laura Green (Gord), the late Janet Wilson (Ross), Mark (Janice), Peter (Kathy), Christine Kirwin (Tim), Angela Petrocco (Tony), Louise Kirwin (Steve Loffree).  Cherished grandfather of Michael (Jaki), David (Shannon), Amanda, Melinda, Martha (Eric), Shawn, Matthew (Catharine), Susan (Faiez), Vincent (Danielle), Bridget (Kale), Isaac (Tara), Sarah (Dean), Jennifer (Murray), Adam, Emma (Justin), Erin (Mike), Claire (Ryan “Bunky”), Scott (Chantal), Xavier, Chantal and 17 great granddaughters and one great grandson. Dear brother of James (Maureen) Kirwin, Theresa (late Norman) Bushell, and brother -in-law of Kathleen Kirwin, Alice Kirwin, Marguerite Dietrich (late Leonard), and Neil Crane (late Isabel).  Leo will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and their families.  Predeceased by his parents Leo and Mae (nee Henesy) Kirwin, as well as his siblings Joseph Kirwin, Sister Mary Leo Kirwin, Patrick Kirwin, Paula Stephenson (Dr. Robert), Thomas Kirwin and Michael (Aline) Kirwin.  Leo served as a Naval Veteran in WWII, was a Past Grand Knight with Knights of Columbus #2069, Sacred Heart, as well as Past President and Zone Commander of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.#119, proud member of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association “Navy Club”, Woodstock and was also a lifelong dairy farmer and a Founding Director of Participation House London.  Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home,  246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll, on Tuesday August 14, 2018, from 2-4pm & 6:30-8:30pm (Note Time).  A Legion Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 6pm.  Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church,  131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at 11am, Fr. Gilbert Simard presider;.  Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Donations in Leo’s memory to Participation House London or the Legion Poppy Fund (cheques accepted) would be appreciated.
