Obituary for Kenneth John Beaumont 1923-2018

Kenneth John Beaumont 1923-2018
With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our father Ken on February 22, 2018.  Ken was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Joyce, in 1992.  He leaves behind his 6 loving children: Sandi Vandermay (John), John (Barb), Paul (Diane), Syd (Nada), Jim (Anna), Greg (Rhianna) and Dorothy and Roger.  Dad also leaves behind his very special friend of 25 years, Elsie Campbell of Woodstock.
He was a proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren, Chantal, Shennan, Johnny, Beth, Ryan, Leanna, Daniel, Justin, Vanessa, and Rachelle,  and 11 great-grandchildren,  Taylor, Cody, Brooklyn, Kayden, Ethan, Jaiden, Mikaela, Layla, Rayna, and Emily.  Ken was like a Grampa to Clayton O’Connell (Alyssa) and Mya, and Michael O’Connell (Kayla).
Dad was born in Scarborough and started his career at Wagner Electric working on electric motors.  He then spent nearly 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Warrant Officer in Ordinance and as a Trainer.  Early on as a Private he met Sergeant Joyce Sheldrake in the early 40’s and married shortly after.  His military career posted him from Montreal to Whitehorse and several places in between, growing his family as he went.  He finished his working life with MacNab Bus Sales in Ingersoll as their Leasing Manager for Thomas Built Busses.  In his retirement he busied himself extensively building woodworking projects and many kids toys in his shop.  He enjoyed socializing locally and loved playing euchre.  Dad was a member with the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Canada (Freemasonry).  He really enjoyed spending time with his cats, Puzzero and Skitter.
Our family would like to send our most sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the staff at the Woodstock Private Hospital.  Their excellent care provided a great amount of comfort and support for Dad.
The family will receive friends at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames St. S., Ingersoll (519-425-1600) on Sunday February 25, 2018 from 2-4pm, and Wednesday February 28, 2018 from 12-1pm.  The funeral service will follow at 1pm on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.  Spring interment Ingersoll Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, and because of Dad’s great love for animals, donations to the Oxford County  SPCA or the Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
