Obituary for Judith  Ann WAUGH-EASTON (Judy)

Judy Waugh-Easton, age 62, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of August 10th, 2017 at Woodstock General Hospital, following a brief struggle with cancer. Born November 12th, 1954 in Woodstock, Ontario, Judy is predeceased by her parents Harry and Helen (Hawkins) Waugh of Woodstock.
Anyone who knew Judy knew of her amazing positivity and love for life in everything she did. Judy loved people, and took great pride in her early career in sales, achieving great success and making her mark as a gifted salesperson. Her drive and determination found her moving into management positions before taking over ownership of a video rental store in Ingersoll, Gala Video and Variety. Judy and her husband, Gary, owned and operated this business for almost 10 years before moving on to other endeavors.
Judy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999, and decided to take time off to focus on her health and her family. She didn’t let her diagnosis get her down, though. She was the eternal optimist, always finding the good in any situation, and keeping the hearts of those around her light and untroubled. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and had a passion for her animals. Judy’s backyard was a sanctuary for birds and other wildlife, and she took great pleasure in their company.
Judy is survived by her soulmate and the love of her life, her husband, Gary Easton, her daughter, Bethany Maltby (Mike), and her granddaughter Olivia. She is also survived by her stepson, Greg Easton (Olinka), grandson Adam and granddaughter Erika, as well as stepson, Anthony Easton (Ashley) and grandson Chase. She will be sorely missed by brother Wayne Waugh (Joanne) of London, brother Ron Waugh (Sharon) of Peterborough, and nephew Kevin Waugh (Ashley) of London, and niece Lauren Waugh of Nanaimo, BC.
At Judy’s request, there will not be a formal funeral service. Instead, a Celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Judy’s name may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Woodstock General Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
