Obituary for Josie Shelton
SHELTON, Josephine (nee Knautz)
It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Shelton (nee Knautz) of RR # 5 Ingersoll announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in her 87th year.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons John and Ron “Skip” (Terry); son-in-law Ted and his children Adria, Brenden (Carly), Silvia and Rena; and extensive family and friends.
Josie is survived by her sister Irene and brother John. She is predeceased by her loving husband George; daughter Irene; brothers Joe and Frank; sisters Anna, Hilda, and Maria; and parents Joseph and Josephine.
Josie was born in Courtland, ON. She started her careers as a schoolteacher then became the brains behind Shelton Bros. sand and gravel and active in the community with Cub Scouts, Folden’s United Church and UCW, and Alexandra Hospital and its Foundation. She was a skilled gardener and quilter, enjoyed travelling the world and the wildlife that passed through the farm.
