John “Jay” Sydney Elliott
May 23, 1951-April 26, 2022
I wrote your name in the sky, but the wind blew it away. I wrote your name in the sand but the waves washed it away. I wrote your name in my heart and forever it will stay.
In a room filled with love, surrounded by his family, Jay Elliott passed peacefully on April 26, 2022 at 12:15pm at the age of 70.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Vicki DeMelo, his three children Sean (Mandy) Elliott, Jennifer (Johnny) Elliott Fenn, Jason (Angela) Elliott, and his beautiful grandchildren Merrissa, Danika, Jayme, Ethan, Drew, Gracin, Ali, Clark. He will also be dearly missed by Step Children Rachel Dean, Melanie (Ryan) Ferris, and grandchildren Carter, Brady, and Elizabeth.
Predeceased by his parents John and Doris Elliott (Nee Armstrong) and missed by his brother Geoff (Darlene) Elliott, nieces Samantha (Ron) Bernath, and Sabrina (Gustavo) Elliott Vergara.
The simplest of pleasures in life brought Jay his greatest joys. He loved spending time with his family, floating on his boat with a fishing rod in hand or travelling with Vicki and friends to where the sun is warm and beers are cold.
A special thank you to Erin McMahonaguiar, Nurse Ally Joi and Dr, Foerster, and paramedic Joanne and the whole team at CCAC for your prompt care and compassion. Also many thanks to all family and friends who sent care items, food, gave suggestions and all of your support. We felt your love and it is greatly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and as Jay wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private family celebration will take place at a later time.
Jay loved animals, so in lieu of flowers a donation to the local charity of the Woodstock Kitten Nursery would be appreciated. Woodstock Kitten Nursery & Rescue
