Obituary for Anny Terhaerdt

TERHAERDT Johanna Hendrika (Anny)

With her family by her side, Anny Terhaerdt (van Haeren), age 92, of Woodstock, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital, on February 25, 2021.

Predeceased by her husband Harry; loving mother to Jerry (Jane) of Embro; Eric (Jitka) of Chicago and Yvonne Bergsma (Mark) of Coldwater. A loving and cherished Oma, who will be missed by her eight grandchildren; Jeremy, Joel, Janelle, Kevin, Julia, Adam, Kaitlyn, and Justin.

Dear sister to Wilhelmien Zetsen (Wehl, NL) and Lisa Vink (Innerkip). Predeceased by her two sisters Siet and Liny and her three brothers Wiek, Theo and Harry.

Born in the Netherlands, she came to Canada at age 29. She was happily married to the love of her life, the late Harry Terhaerdt, for 56 years. They lived in Arva, Hickson, Innerkip and eventually settling in Ingersoll, to raise their three children, and thoroughly enjoy their 8 grandchildren.

Anny had a deeply rooted faith and could often be seen volunteering in her Sacred Heart parish, as a long-time member and leader within the CWL, the 55+ Club, as well as supporting countless mission projects over the years, to just name a few. If not out and about, one would find her working in her beautiful gardens. Anny loved her flowers and vegetables but especially loved to give them away. Her giving spirit could be seen in everything she did. No one went home empty handed as they left the house. A beautiful well-lived life.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll Tuesday March 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. In keeping with Covid restriction guidelines, you will be required to RSVP attendance to Sacred Heart Office 519-485-1802. Private Interment, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anny’s memory are appreciated and can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
