Obituary for Jerry KLINGENBERG

Klingenberg, Jerry (January 3, 1956 – August 27, 2022)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Klingenberg. Jerry died peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 27, 2022 at the age of 66 after dealing with a difficult illness for the past 5 years. Jerry was born in Ingersoll, Ontario on January 3, 1956 and resided in the Ingersoll area for his entire life. He was predeceased by his parents Jan (John) and Dirkje (Dickie) Klingenberg who were born in the Netherlands.He is survived by his wife, best friend, and high school sweetheart, Joy Klingenberg, and their children Jennifer Dowsett (Chris) and Steven Klingenberg, as well his grandsons who he had a very close and special relationship with, Jaden, Bailey, and Sage.

Jerry is also survived by his second parents, Audrey and Bob Wisson, and many loving siblings and sibling-in-laws, including Nellie Zylstra (Hank), Chris Noe (Chris), Steve Klingenberg (Marg), Betty Clock (Lewis), Mike Wisson, Judy Stephenson (Bernie), Vicki Richardson (Mark), and Tracey Rose. Jerry also had close relationships with many nieces and nephews, including Joel Zylstra (Carla), Josh Zylstra (Tamara), Frank DeJong, Johnny DeJong, David Noe, John Klingenberg (Rebecca), Angela Ashcroft (Dan), Lucas Klingenberg (Julie), Samantha Klingenberg, James Clock, Stephanie Belgrave (Jonathan), Alannah Wisson, Erin Jackson (Justin), Derek Stephenson (Jenna), Andrea Stephenson, Sean Richardson (Beth), Jeff Richardson (Taylor), Daniel Rose, and Kara Rose, as well as several great nieces and nephews (and a couple on the way), aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jerry is also leaving behind many long-time good friends and colleagues.

Jerry attended Fanshawe College and worked in Ingersoll as a Realtor for over 35 years and was always very handy with building or fixing anything. He loved cycling, motorcycles, cars, driving, exploring, music, photography, family gatherings, socializing, telling stories, and was always there for anyone who needed anything at all. Right up until his final days, Jerry enjoyed countless social visits and conversations with many friends and family members. He was well-liked and respected by everyone who knew him and will be missed by so many.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 11:00am - 4:00pm at the Colombo Club of Oxford (434719 W Hill Line RR 1,Beachville, Ontario N0J 1A0.
