BAIN, James Baxter (Jim)
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce the passing of James Baxter Bain.
Jim Bain’s battle with cancer ended peacefully on the night of 30 October 2022 at The Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock ON with both his loving son, Sean and Daughter, Stacey by his side.
Jim was born in Dunfermline Scotland on 20 Nov 1950 to John and Lily Bain.
Jim moved to Canada at the age of 21 bringing with him a passion for soccer (or Football as it is correctly known).
This passion would allow him to become a respected head coach of the Forest City Rangers and a mentor to the many youth soccer players in the Woodstock, Ingersoll, Dorchester, and London area. This passion and drive would culminate in seeing Jim become the President of The London District Youth Soccer League where he would continue to grow the game of soccer.
Jim was known to be outgoing with a keen sense of humour within the community. Whether he was enjoying a meal at Louie’s Restaurant or playing a round of golf at The Ingersoll Golf & Country Club, you could always count on Jim to leave you smiling.
Jim retired from SS&M Heavy Duty Truck Parts in 2020 where he had become an important and reliable salesman; loved by his many costumers and colleagues throughout the years.
Jim is survived by his Mother, Lily Bain; Daughter, Stacey Bain; Son, Sean Bain (Vera), and partner Christine Moogk.
A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at The Sakura Hospice House in Woodstock ON.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-4pm on Sunday Nov 13 at The Ingersoll Golf & Country Club located at 51 Holcroft St W, Ingersoll ON.
Jim was a big advocate for the abolishment of puppy mills, and a lover of animals. Donations can be made to Westies in Need (WiN) Rescue, or any animal rescue you may hold dear, in lieu of flowers.
