To Ilean's family concerning the loss of your mother.
I met Ilean almost two years ago when I first began to volunteer at the Lodge.
It was a work that was placed upon my heart that time to volunteer even though I had never been involved in this type of work before. It took me time to introduce myself to each resident as I went through the doors ; hallways and into their rooms.
I will always remember Ilean as to always greeting me with a smile when I entered the room with a knock on the door and introducing myself by sayin, Hi Elean; its Carol. She would say, O CAROL come on in.
I began reading with her about stories of life and how THE LORD worked His way into people's lives little by little. She so enjoyed our time together. I would sing to her the church songs and message her hands as I worked them with the cream.
She was a delight to me and to many others and I never heard her complain except for her eyesight and not being able to see with her glasses.
Her son had written to her ( Dennis) and I was asked if I would take the time to read the letter from the USA . I read it twice to her and she was so glad to hear all the news that Dennis and his wife were busy at and that they would soon to be home.
She was a gem to me and yes, I will miss her .
Not sure when the Nursing Home will be reopened again, but I do look forward in meeting others who will come along in the days to come and spend their last years in the HOME.
GOD BLESS
Carol Mattice.
