Van Spronsen: Hendrika Maria – With saddened hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Oma Hendrika “Riek” Van Spronsen on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Beloved wife of the late John Van Spronsen (2012). Cherished mother of Mary Maas, Milly (Brian Helps), Kerry (Daryl Anderson), Chris (late Lori 2008). Proud Oma of Andrew and Alana (Maelle, Robson, Briar), Emily (Kaeleb, Dutch, Holland (2013), Lucky); Matthew and Jen (Rileigh, Sarah, Abby), Stephen and Afton (Gavin, Landon), Ian and Cassie (Brooke, Shaye); Shawn and Erica, Kyle and Mandy (Ryland, Kohen), Collin and Ashley (Autumn, Ella, Arthur), Garrett and Kristina; Jason and Kelly, Kayla and Colin (Nolan), Kevin and Hillary, Logan. Also survived by her sister Stien (John) Scholtes, and sister-in-law Mary VanderEnde. Loving aunt of Maria, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by seven sisters and two brothers. Riek was born August 23, 1924 in Loosduinen, Netherlands. She will be fondly remembered for her love of winning a game of cards, and gardening, especially her orchids. A longtime member of the C.W.L. with the Sacred Heart Church, Ingersoll. Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll, 519-425-1600 Wednesday October 25, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll at 11:30 am, Fr. Gilbert Simard presider. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Donations in Riek’s memory to the Strathmere Lodge – Women’s Auxiliary ( cheques accepted) would be appreciated.
