Obituary for Helen Marie MATTHEWS (Clark)
Of Ingersoll passed away encompassed by the love of her family, on Thursday June 08, 2017 at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll, Ontario.
Helen was born 93 years ago in London, Ontario and lived there until she met her love and dancing partner through life, James (Jim) T. Matthews of Ingersoll. Jim shared over 60 years with Helen and pre-deceased her in 2008.
Helen was much loved by her sons Ted and Tom and daughter-in-law Lindaree. She was the proud grandmother to Leigh and Wes, Dylan, Caralyn and Kevin, Megan and Richard and Lindsay and Vania. Helen was fondly known as GGM to her great-grand children Michael, Hannah, Roree and Ava.
Helen was an avid card player and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 119 and the Senior’s Centre.
Helen is survived by her sisters Connie and Anita of London, Ontario and brother Bernard in California.
The family wishes to extend, their thanks to the 3rd floor nursing staff and Dr. Tom Mayberry for your compassion and care of mom
A service of life and remembrance will be held at St. James’ Anglican Church in Ingersoll at 11:00AM, Monday June 12. We will gather for a reception to share our memories of Helen following the service in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Alexandra Hospital Equipment Fund would be appreciated.
