Obituary for Gerard SOSNOWSKI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Gerard Vincent Sosnowski, on December 16, 2017 at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents John Vincent Sosnowski and Evelyn Boissonneau. He is survived by 10 brothers and sisters: Marianne (Terry) Acheson, Cathleen (Eckhard) Eichhorn, John (Claire) Sosnowski, Winnifred Elliott, Susan Lehr, Maureen (Ken) Pyle, Leo Sosnowski, Frances Drew (Mike), Paula Sosnowski (Dave), Monica (George) Szajko, and several nieces and nephews. Gerard spent his early years in Milton Heights and attended Milton District High School where he was active in sports, music and drama. It was here that Gerard took up the ?ute which became part of his persona. Gerard served in the Canadian Coast Guard for 31 years and considered the C.C.G.S. Samuel Risley his second home. For years he entertained us with detailed stories of his adventures on the Great Lakes. Gerard has been living in Ingersoll for the past several years. He will be remembered by his local friends for his beautiful singing voice and in particular for his rendition of The Summer Wind. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations in Gerard’s memory may be made to Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll. clear skies, calm seas and safe harbour
