Passed peacefully at home with family by her side on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, in her 83rd year. Joining her love of 62 years, J. Paul Rivest (September 18, 2023).
Loving Mother of Bob Rivest (Vicki) of Ingersoll, Elaine Nocent (Dennis) of Belle River, late Deacon Dennis Rivest (2022) (Cathy) of London, Sharron Carr of Amherstburg, and Paul Rivest (Caroline) of Komoka. Adored Grandma of Jessie Rivest (Liam), Allie Rivest (Michael), Christopher Nocent (Taylor), Ryan Nocent, Christina Barber (Steven), Danielle Durand (Nathan), Taylor Carr, Caden Rivest (Lauren) and Lauren Rivest. Dearest sister of Mary Helen (late Lawrence), Marcella (Ray), Annette (Armand), Geraldine (Henry) and Ernie (Linda). Also survived by brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gen was a gifted quilter, a passion she shared by making blankets for many. Ever the optimist, she always had a smile and a kind word to lift your spirits. Long time member of St. John the Evangelist CWL. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1688 County Road 46, Woodslee on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 am. Interment to follow.
