Obituary for Geertruida Francisca Maria ( Versteeg) JONGERIUS

Passed away peacefully, August 15th, 2015 at Alexandra Hospital. “Trudy” was born October 27th, 1921 in Utrecht, Netherlands. She immigrated to Canada in 1951 with Bernard “Ben” Jongerius (2002), her beloved husband of nearly 54 years. Trudy and Ben built a prosperous farm near Foldens Corners, 1958-1983; after which they moved to Ingersoll to enjoy retirement. She was a loving Mother to Bernie (1968) and John (Kathy) and a wonderful Oma to Joni (Jeffrey) and Bernie, all from Winnipeg. Her life was blessed with three great-grandchildren Alexandra, Kaylee and Hannah; a caring nephew, Frank Pastoor of Woodstock; a thoughtful niece, Joanne Liberatore of London; and countless cherished friends and family. Trudy was a kind, cheerful person who lived a fulfilling life despite often stressful challenges. She loved to play cards with friends and family. Trudy enjoyed numerous crafts including knitting many articles for charity, and bedspreads and blankets that will be appreciated by her grandchildren for years! She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her. Trudy was a resident of the Oxford Manor Retirement Home since August 2002, where she always appreciated the care and friendship of the entire staff. Thanks also to Dr. Sondhi and the Alexandra Hospital staff for their thoughtful care. Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be at 3:45p.m.. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. Fr. Gilbert Simard Presider.
