Obituary for Eric Burns MINOGUE

MINOGUE, Eric Burns

It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Eric Burns Minogue, 91 years young.

He left us peacefully the evening of April 18, 2020 with his loving wife Marlene holding his hand.

Adored father of Sherry (Sam), Tammi (Larry) and Julie (Jonathan). Cherished Papa to Casey, Sonya, Lacey, Maya, and Jacob. Great Grandpa to Jasmine, Cheyenne, Ryan, Ethan, Erica, and Jared. Sadly, missed by sisters-in-law Verna Minogue and Janet Connor, brother-in-law Ken Moore, several nieces and nephews, and Eric’s 4-legged sidekick “Molly”.

Eric served the Canadian Armed Forces, Korean War, 1950-1952. He worked 39 years at Domtar Quarry, Beachville. He was blessed to enjoy 33 years of retirement. He was a “Jack of all trades”, demonstrating his skills by building three of their homes. Eric enjoyed volunteering at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, golfing, bowling, gardening, and spending hours on his John Deere tractor, and always with his dog Molly.

Many Thanks to Dr. Bruce and staff, Alexandra Hospital and especially the nurses and care givers at Caressant Care Woodstock for their compassion, devotion, and care.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be held later.

Donations to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Ingersoll, Alzheimer’s Society, VON Oxford would be appreciated.
