Obituary for Edward Maxwell WHITE

Died on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his home in London, Ontario, age 91. He is survived and greatly missed by his beloved wife, the former Nora MacMillan and five children: Connie and her husband Rick Cecchin of Ingersoll; John of London; Margaret and her husband John Hughes of St. Thomas; Norah of London and Edward and his wife Tara of London. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Jeffrey, Scott and Jenna Cecchin; Bradley (and his partner Jacquie Geurts) and Michelle Hughes and Chevi White. As well, he is survived by three great-grandchildren, Owen Geurts, Stanley and Benjamin Hughes. He is also survived by his dear brother Norman White of Teeswater, Ontario. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, the Rev. Joseph Thomas White (1965) and Mary Isabella (nee Dalziel) White (1985) and siblings William Seymour White (1978), Helen Butcher (2006) and Beth Charlton (2009). Edward was born on June 27, 1926 in Hazenmore, Saskatchewan and also lived in Lewvan, Pense, Lashburn and Welwyn, Saskatchewan before moving to Ontario with his family in 1944. He married on April 7, 1956 in Ingersoll. He had a career in office administration which included working for Emco (London), Husband Transport (Etobicoke), Mother Parker’s Tea and Coffee (Mississauga) and the United Co-operatives of Ontario (Woodstock). He and his family resided for the most part in Ingersoll but also lived in Bramalea, Brampton and Blenheim, Ontario. He had resided in retirement in London for almost the past thirty years. The funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Dr. David Thompson, will take place at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames St. S., Ingersoll on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2 o’clock pm with visitation commencing one hour immediately prior to the service at 1 o’clock. Interment will follow at the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery, Ingersoll, Ontario. Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Ingersoll are greatly appreciated. Special thanks are extended from the family to those who treated Edward: Dr. David Cavanaugh of London and his staff and all of the health professionals from LHIN, Saint Elizabeth Health Services and the VON.
