Obituary for Edith Sarah BARTRAM (Roberts)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Sarah Bartram (nee Roberts) in her 90th year. Surrounded by family at her residence on Friday Sept 11, 2020. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Ethel Roberts, sister Doris Allan, brother Art Roberts and daughter Jill Murray. Loving wife of John Bartram of Ingersoll for nearly 71 years and devoted mother of Betty Ann Cowing (Dennis) and Mike Bartram (Lynda). Cherished grandmother of Chrissy Dunham (Al), Lisa Granja (Mike), Jason Cowing (Katie), Mandy Reid (Rodney Hales) Janna McEown (Marshall) Courtney Glanzmann (Kevin) and Lindsay Bynsdorp (Anthony). She will be sadly missed by her 17 great grandchildren and her 2 great great granddaughters.

Edith was a member of the Trinity United Church and was an active member of the community. In early years, Edith and John coached and managed hockey together. They enjoyed boating at Long Point in the summers, Florida in the winters and were often seen at hockey arenas and ball parks. She was a skilled bowler. She enjoyed knitting and baking for her family and friends. She loved spending her time by the pool watching her grandchildren learn to swim. She worked at H.W Douglas and Sons for over 25 years as a secretary/bookkeeper.

The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to daughter in-law Lynda and granddaughter Chrissy for their amazing support and 24/7 care that they provided Edith over the last 2 months. Without their compassion and selfless sacrifice, Edith would not have been able to spend her last months in her home of 70 years. We are eternally grateful for their love and support of both Edith and John.

A private family graveside service has been scheduled. Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 gathering restrictions, there will be no visitation. Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church or charity of one’s choice in memory of Edith would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home (519-425-1600) . Personal condolences can be posted at www.mbeathdynes.ca
