Obituary for Diana Elizabeth SINCLAIR

SINCLAIR:  Diana Elizabeth –  At Alexandra Hospital on August 23, 2017 in her 87th year.  Beloved daughter of the late James and Zillah Sinclair of Ingersoll.  Predeceased by infant brother, James.  Loving friend of Harold and Nancy Matthews and Godmother of Alister and Hamish Matthews.  Diana was proud of her Scottish heritage and equally proud of Canada as a nation of compassion and acceptance of all people. She was community-minded and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Ingersoll.  Diana chose a career in public health, first in Napanee for three years and then returning home to Ingersoll to work with the Oxford Board of Health.  She travelled the roads of the southern part of the county, helping young mothers and their newborns, in the schools with children and wherever a health need arose, bringing her skill, her calm and her compassion.  Diana’s pleasures in life were simple – her daily newspaper, a good book, reruns of M.A.S.H., her ladies’ card group, receiving friends at home, some travel and always a pampered cat about the house.  A celebration of a life well-lived will be held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 56 Thames St. S., Ingersoll on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to service.  Donations in memory of Diana may be made to Alexandra Hospital or St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.  Arrangements entrusted to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 519-425-1600.
