Obituary for Jim Pittock
PITTOCK: Cyrus James (Jim)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Cyrus James (Jim) Pittock, peacefully with family at his side, at Sakura House in Woodstock on June 22, 2022 in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of Gladys (Pickard) Pittock (2005). Jim was born on October 31, 1932 to James Arthur and Mary Marguerite Pittock (Furtney) in Ingersoll.
Dearly loved father of Charles Pittock (Gabriela), Susan Bazos (Gus) and Mary Moyer (Roger). Very loved grandfather of Daniella (James), Benjamin (Noelle), Adam (Jenn), Katarina (David), Laura (Phil), Scott (Jasmine). Jim (Papa) was especially proud of his great grandchildren, Odin, Colson, Kingsley, Allie, Rory, Rhetta and Abigail.
Jim was an avid golfer well into his 80s and a longtime member of the Ingersoll Golf & Country Club. He was a long-time member and elder at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Ingersoll.
Gladys and Jim enjoyed travelling and spent many hours playing bridge with friends. Jim was a kind and gentle man, and he is predeceased by his younger brother and sister, Robert, and Barbara.
Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South Ingersoll, Monday 2-5 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church 56 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 1:30pm. Interment to follow in the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sakura House for their kindness and compassion during his brief illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory would be greatly appreciated to Sakura House in Woodstock or St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Ingersoll.
