Obituary for Charles George SWATRIDGE

Charles George Swatridge
June 20, 1931 to October 2, 2020

In his 90th year, Charles (Chuck) George Swatridge passed away peacefully on October 2 at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll.

A long-time resident of Ingersoll, Chuck will be deeply missed by his partner Linda, and his children Terry Lenhardt (Larry), Cindy Thayer (Chuck), David, and his daughter-in-law Donna. Dearly loved by his grandchildren Wendy, Marcie, Christopher, Andrea, Luke, and Laura. Special GG to his five great grandchildren. Predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen. Survived by his sisters Betty Anne Nigh, Marianne Musgrave-Merrill and sister-in-law Mary Moran.

Chuck happily retired as General Manager from Ingersoll Fasteners, formerly Morrow Screw & Nut, where he was employed for 45 years. He then continued putting his experience to use working at, and growing his son’s business, Delta Machine and Design.
As an Elder of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, he freely gave many hours of service in support of their ministry.
As a founding and lifelong member of the Ingersoll Curling Club, Chuck represented the club at numerous regional events. Winning the Ontario Seniors was the highlight of his curling career. He loved to call the game even when he wasn’t on the ice.
He was a 60+ year member of the King Hiram 37 and Oxford-Harris Chapter No 18, Royal Arch Masons.
He loved nothing more than lending a helping hand in any building project, including decks and docks at which he was the “master”. He also enjoyed golfing, camping, was a Scout Master for many years and had a passion for all things automobile.

A Memorial Service will be held at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 56 Thames St. Ingersoll on Friday October 16, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St Paul’s Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
