Obituary for Catherine Cecilia  McELHONE (1920-2015)

Catherine passed away peacefully, on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 at Secord Trails Care Community, Ingersoll, in her 96th year. She is predeceased by her husband Gerald McElhone (1986). Loving Mother of Edward (Bonnie), Raymond (MaryAnn), Helen Reid (Ken), Wayne, Jim, and Bernadine Cooper (Bill). Proud Grandmother of Robert McElhone (Kerrie), Angela Postma (Dan), Lori Graham (Derek), Terrie Pilon (Frank), William McElhone (1973-74), Devin and Lindsay Cooper, Christopher and Dylan Reid, James, Shane and Chantal McElhone. Great Grandmother of: Kevin, Kyle, Kayla and Kiersten Postma, Emily and Jessica Graham, Amanda, Cheyenne, Nevada and Triston McElhone, Victoria and Kayla McElhone. Great, Great Grandmother of McKinley Gignac. Catherine is missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent Kloepfer (Gloria) and John Kloepfer (Elsie). She will be remembered by her bridge groups where she was an avid player in a game she dearly loved; the Sacred Heart Ingersoll Catholic Women’s League where she volunteered making items for the missions, crafts for the Christmas Bazaar, baking pies for fund raising and serving funeral luncheons. Catherine served on the Sacred Heart Parish Altar Ministry and at the Religious Articles Gift Kiosk, and volunteered many years at Caressant Care Nursing Home after her retirement. Special thanks to Catherine’s caregivers at Secord Trails Care Community, where she has lived since November 2013 after suffering a stroke Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11am Fr. Gilbert Simard Presider. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or Sacred Heart Church Building Fund.
