Carl Bruce Sutherland, in his 91st year died on February 26, 2014 at home as was his wish. Carl was the son of the late Hugh and May Sutherland. He was predeceased by his wife Beryl (1999), his oldest daughter Carolyn Harrison (2012) and his sister Catherine Armstrong (2010). Carl was a father to daughters Susan and Pam Petrie (Gary), sons David, Steve (Cathy), Jody (Tish), Riath (Nancy) and Kimble (Liz). Carl is also lovingly remembered by his fifteen grandchildren and was a great grandfather to four. He was an uncle to four and father-in-law to William Harrison. Carl was a lifelong resident of RR 4 Embro. He was a farmer and later a member of Labourers Union Local 1059. In his retirement, Carl took great pleasure in tending to his annual garden of gladiolus. Carl was very grateful for the wonderful support provided by the Community Care Access Centre, Saint Elizabeth nurses, and the tremendous individual care provided by his Personal Support Workers through Red Cross partners which allowed him to stay living at home. Friends will be received at the McBeath- Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11 am. Interment to follow later in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
