Obituary for Bruna Santina PILLON (Bortolotti)

PILLON, Bruna (nee Bortolotti)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruna Pillon (née Bortolotti). Bruna left this world on February 8, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family.

Bruna was born in San Daniele, Friuli Italy on December 20th, 1938. She immigrated to Canada in 1959 to marry the love of her life, Fortunato (Frank). Bruna was an incredible and devoted mother to her children Lillian (Gord) and Daniel and a loving Nonna to Dayna (Alan) and Alexander. She will also be dearly missed by her extended family and friends in both Canada and Italy. Bruna was predeceased by her best friend and sister, Isabella as well as her parents Alfredo and Romilda.

Bruna was not a rock, but a mountain. A strong, brave, and selfless spitfire that lived for and defended her family like a lioness. She was a perfectionist in everything she did; from sewing to cooking, but never sharing the secrets to her iconic pasta sauce. You could always count on Bruna to tell you how it is in her sweet and sassy way and make you laugh with her sarcastic remarks. There is no love like Bruna’s love – she will be missed dearly by all that have had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the London Regional Cancer Program, Alexandra Hospital and Ingersoll Services for Seniors for their compassionate care and service.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 2:00pm until 4:00pm, and 6:00pm until 8:00pm at McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and family are invited for a lunch in Bruna’s honour at Henderson Hall, 133 John St. in Ingersoll.

The family requests donations to be made to Ingersoll Seniors Services in lieu of flowers.
