It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Brenda Lee Gilbert (nee Ewing) who peacefully departed from this world surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2024 (Family Day) in her 76th year.
Brenda was born on October 1, 1948, and has been married to Gerald Gilbert since November 7, 1964. Cherished mother of Wanda Gilbert (Nate Klenk), Steve Gilbert (Nancy Gilbert), and Wendy Hebert (Dan Hebert). Beloved Nana of Jesse Gilbert, Caitlynn Gilbert, Scott Gilbert, Marissa Gilbert, Courtney Gilbert, Baylee Guiler, and the late Jackson Hebert (2019). Predeceased by her parents Violet Mae Fisher and Arthur David Ewing, and siblings Gweneth Bates (Woodrow), Bill Ewing (Phyllis), Jacqueline Kendricks (Ron), Bonnie Westcott (Melvin), Sandra Lang (Jim), and survived by her brother Bob Ewing (Christine). Cherished sister-in-law of Georgia Wardell (Joe Heggie), Doug Gilbert (Lavina), David Gilbert (Margaret), Reginald Gilbert (Luella), Loela Gilbert, Gloria Kalle (Robert), Nora LeBlanc (Don). Larry Gilbert (Margaret), and Nellie Kalle (Roy Stamp).
In honouring Brenda’s wishes, she will be cremated, and immediate family will gather at a later date for her interment. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in Brenda’s memory are asked to consider Make-A-Wish Canada, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and/or The War Amps
Brenda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was loved beyond measure.
