Obituary for Barry Alan WHITE

Barry Alan White, born 1941 in Derby, England to the late George and Edna White, passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2022.

Missed dearly by late wife Eilish, sister Wendy, brother Terry, daughter Pauline and son Barry Og (Dale), son-in-law Al, daughter-in-law Cheryl Ann, grandchildren Delcinea, Eliesha, Rogan, Sean, great grandchild Hendrik.

80 years of the fullest life story you could ever imagine has come to a peaceful end. The memories, stories, legacy, and laughs will continue for generations.

The legacy started in England, moved to Canada, then a long chapter in Northern Ireland, and finally back to Canada. Barry filled those 80 years with love, laughs, family, friends, and adventure. He did it his way with energy and passion.

He could ride a motorcycle, build a sailboat, and race it, coach soccer, bring communities together, play every instrument, build his own guitars, grow his own food, sing in the choir, hike for days, raise chickens, refurbish steam locomotives, build model trains, tell a great story, the list really does go on and on. Never a dull moment.

Barry was the most generous person with his time. He would help everyone in every situation that he could. He was a legend in his community. He was a loving father not just to his two kids but to all his kids’ friends. He was a loving husband to his late wife Eilish through all of life’s ups and downs.
Barry will be missed by many, many people from all walks of life, from all parts of the world. If you knew Barry you are one of the lucky ones.

Please raise your glass, say a prayer, sing a song, remember a good time, dance a little jig, or shed a wee tear or enjoy a night of great craic. Do what works for you in these tough times to remember a Grand Old Man who was bigger than life itself. We will never forget you GOM.

Friends will be received at Emmanuel Reformed Church 170 Clarke Street North, Woodstock Friday January 21, 2022 from 1-2 pm with the funeral service at 2pm. Masks and Social Distancing Mandatory. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers Barry requested donations toward memberships for unfortunate seniors to the Friendship Centre in St. Mary's. Donations may be made through the funeral home. For his friends and family overseas a donation to one of Barry's many passions, Tools for Solidarity, where he repaired sewing machines for use in Africa.
