Obituary for Ashten Elizabeth HOGG (Hogg)

HOGG, Ashten Elizabeth

“You were born a child of light’s wonderful secret…

You return to the beauty you have always been.”

Ashten Elizabeth Hogg,(Fick) in her 23rd year, passed away Friday, July 31st as a result of a tragic accident. She is survived by her partner Chris Johnson, daughter Areiyah, son Elijah, and their big sister Brooklynn. Beloved by parents Trina Hogg (Mike Paton), Kevin Fick, and her cherished sister Emilee. She was surrounded in love by grandparents Nanogram Deb & Poppa John (Bomans), Grandpa Larry & Grandma Nasrin (Hogg), Grandma Eleanor & predeceased by Grandpa Roger (Fick). Much loved by Chris’s father Dean (Barb) Johnson, mother Jane (Paul) Sibley, his siblings, children, and extended family. Many aunts/uncles, great aunts/great uncles, cousins, and step-families will miss her vibrant spirit, and infectious grin.

From a young age she was very social, loved her dresses, doted on her baby sister, and grew to appreciate fun clothes and purses, quirky hair colours, makeup, and tattoos. She loved Beanie Babies – her mom still has two buckets full! Ashten had a kind heart and was a friend to many, sharing what little she had with those in need. She loved potlucks, and her Timmies! Above all, she tried so hard to be the best mom to her children. And she’s a hero to her baby girl…

Our hearts full of thanks, reach out to all EMS responders/Victim services, bystanders who stepped in to help, the medical team at Alexandra Hospital, the Lambert and McClain families, Mango Salad, Salvation Army, Foodland…, and ALL who’ve left tributes of flowers & teddy bears on the bench to acknowledge Ashten, and share their loss with her family.

If you wish, in lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the Children’s Aid Society, Salvation Army, or simply pay a kindness forward to someone in need. She would love your gesture.

A private family service will be held, with a more inclusive graveside service later.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll 519-425-1600.

Personal condolences may be sent to www.mcbeathdynes.ca

We celebrate the love, strength, and courage that is, and was our Ashten…
