Obituary for Andrew GERRARD (Drew)
Andrew (Drew) Gerrard, aged 80 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 21, 2018 in his family home in Ingersoll, ON Canada.
Drew was born on 6 Nov 1937 in Paisley, Scotland. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary (nee McKenzie) and his younger brother Ian Gerrard. He married his beloved companion Joanne (nee Macpherson) on the 17 Sept 1960.
Drew proudly served in the Royal Air Force, based at Honnington Air Force Base in Bury St. Edmonds in England. Drew went on to graduate from the University of Glasgow with his engineering degree, and worked for the Scottish National Gas Board, before finally immigrating with his family to Calgary in 1974
He is survived by three adoring daughters Denise (Howie) Melesko of Calgary, AB., Diane (Chris) Mutton of Ingersoll, ON., Julie (Dale) Sawchuk of Calgary, AB, and his only son Andrew (Joseph) Gerrard of Sydney, Australia. Andrew was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Julie (Jermaine), Lauren (Derek), Christopher (Meagan) Michael (Whisper), Jordan (Treava), Morgan, Jessica, Nayla, Jacob and Sophie. He was also the proud great grandfather to 9 great-grandchildren Kingston, Kennedy, McKinley, Oliver, Fern, Preston, Peyton, Jackson, and Beckham.
Visitation will be Sunday August 26th, 2018 between the hours of 2:00pm and 5:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 27th at McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll at 1:30pm.
Memorial donations in Drew’s memory to the Arthritis Society Southwest Region (cheques accepted) would be appreciated.
