Peacefully at University Hospital, London, Ontario on Monday, July 13, 2015 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Currie) Baskette for 60 years. Loving Father of Margaret Ellah (Mike), Joan Todd (Rob) and George. Cherished Grandpa of Jennifer, Karen, Matthew, Jessica, Diane, Tyler, Byron, Shawn, Brandon, Monika and 8 Great Grandchildren. Dear brother of Ivan (Norma) and Betty Huntley (late Jim). Brother-in-law of Bob Cowell (late Madeline), Dave and Marion Ellis, Doug and Doreen Nash, Barbara Currie and Jim Currie. Jake was predeceased by his brothers Jack (Jonnie), Bill (Bea), and sisters Mary (Bill) and Barbara (Bill). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jake was member of the Simcoe Barber Shoppers for 50 years, an active member of West Oxford United Church and an avid sports fan. Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Friday from 1-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at West Oxford United Church, 354395 Church Line, Ingersoll, on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11:00 am with Reverend David Van Patter officiating.
