Obituary for Agnes ( Sturdik) DUNHAM

A long-time resident of Oxford County, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock.
Born in February of 1932 in River Hebert, Nova Scotia to emigrants from Slovakia and Poland, Agnes spent the formative years of her life living in both River Hebert, Nova Scotia and New Waterford, Nova Scotia before permanently settling in Ontario during her teenage years.
Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ingersoll for many years. Besides being an active member of the Catholic Women’s League, Agnes also volunteered countless hours of her life to preparing breakfast for schoolchildren. When Agnes was not in church, she was busy going for long drives, visiting relatives, and getting herself into trouble. It should be noted that there was never a conundrum she couldn’t get herself out of.
Agnes is survived by her children; Deborah (Al) Rylance of Black Creek, British Columbia, Cathy (Ed) Curtis of Woodstock, and Denise Burden of Tillsonburg. Six grandchildren also survive her; Shannon, Andrea, Nicole, Chad (Rachael), Jessica (Mitch), Stevie; and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her life partner Burt Blashill. Agnes and Burt met in the 1970s and have been devoted ever since. We can all only wish to experience a love like they shared.
Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames Street South, Ingersoll on Sunday from 2-5 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Gilbert Simard presider. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario would be appreciated.
