Obituary for Jack Reginald FREEMANTLE

FREEMANTLE, Jack Reginald, the last man standing from his large family has passed on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
Jack was born in Ingersoll and lived his entire 93 years in town. One of the last survivors from a part of town known as Stumptown.

He was predeceased in 2018 by his wife of 70 years, Helen (Blackman) formerly of St. Mary’s. Son Gary 1987, daughters Glenda (Naisbitt) 2018, and Janis 1968. He is survived by daughter Michele Gervais (Ted) and grandchildren Anita (Gielis), Kerri (D’ambrosio), Sam (Egan), and Rachel (Egan). Jack was the son of Millicent Weston Freemantle Partlo and William Freemantle, stepson of Ernest Partlo. Brother to Johny, Hilda, Helen, Ruby, Fred, Jerry, Olive, Doreen, Barbara, and Butch.

Jack lived a long and healthy life. He was a longtime employee of Morrows/Ingersoll fasterners and an Ingersoll historian. He enjoyed old cars, hunting, fishing, gardening, and tinkering with motors. He could always be counted on to lend a hand with roofing, plumbing, deck building and general maintenance. A true “Jack of all Trades”.

The family wants to thank the physicians, nurses, physiotherapy, and support staff of the 3rd floor Alexandra Hospital, and the staff at Secord Trails for their compassion and excellent care.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment celebration will be held later at Ingersoll Rural Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 519-425-1600.
